Alfonso Americo Chavez

November 9, 1934 — April 26, 2021

Alfonso "Al" Americo Chavez died at home, peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2021. Al touched many people throughout his life. He was a beloved, son brother, husband, brother-in-law, and father. He was a patriot, stationed in Korea during his service in the US Army: a diplomat while at the Mexican Consulate; an entrepreneur in the TV and Stereo business, a founding member of a bank and ultimately a farmer. Al was preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Candelaria, his brothers Mario and Jaime and his son, Eric Chavez. Al is survived by his brothers Gus and Rick Chavez; ex-wife Vera Vermillion; his son Alfie Chavez; his son Jason Chavez and wife Brandy; his daughter Tracy Murcia and husband Daniel; granddaughter Megan Gaddy and her husband Marcus, grandchildren Brandon, Tyler, Jordon, and Eric Chavez; granddaughter Ayla Murcia and great-grandson William Gaddy. Al was laid to rest on April 30, 2021 at the Reedley Cemetary.
