Cruz and I went to the police academy together in 1990. He was working with me through some of the most difficult times in my career. I always considered him my friend. I lost contact with him after we both moved out of Dinuba and left the PD. I always will consider him a friend and offer my condolences to Olivia and his family. I will miss him.
