Dora Carrillo

Dora Carrillo, age 90, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was born Dora Segura Franco on August 9, 1932, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Vivian and Luisa Franco. In 1944 she moved with her family to California, settling in Dinuba.

Dora was the second of seven children: Christina Arias, Ruby Arenas, Eva Mendoza, and the late Matt, Victor, and Elanor Salazar.

On July 7, 1953, Dora married the love of her life, Rumaldo. Carrillo. They had three children: Rumaldo M., Cathy (Maurer), and Carol (Barsamian. They were also blessed with numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Dora spent her summers in Dinuba as a Field Boss farming grapes for Frank Williams, and as the Floor Lady at the Ananian Brother tomato packing house. During the school year Dora served as a teacher’s aide at Jefferson Elementary School. Dora later spent her retirement enjoying her grandchildren, always making them the focus of her life.

Dora is survived by her loving husband Rumaldo B., and her children Rumaldo M., and Cathy, and several grand and great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
