Mary Magdalena Gallardo

Our loving mother Mary Magdalena Gallardo of Sanger, California passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her entire family on March 16, 2023 after a 20-year battle with Alzheimer’s, she was 67 years old.

Mary was born on April 25, 1955 to Maria and Guillermo Elizondo in McAllen, Texas. Mary and her family moved to Sanger, California when she was 7 years old. She attended Sanger schools where in 1970, she met the love of her life Steve Gallardo.

They married in 1973 and went on to build one large beautiful family with five children, Steven, Jessica, Robert, Denise and Crystal. Upon the birth of her first son Steven she decided to dedicate her life to being an amazing stay at home mother who was always there for us when we needed her.

She was not only the best mother to the Gallardo Five she was also the Matriarch of our family whose solid foundation was built on their strong faith in God. She excelled at serving all members of her extended family through both their passions and difficulties in their lives. She made it her mission to help improve the lives of others. Her smile was permanent and could light up the darkest room.

Mary had a passion to serve in ministry and could always be found at prayer group, small group bible studies, women’s retreats and church service worshiping in her strong faith. She had many friends and worked caring for others as an in-home care provider once her children were grown.

She is survived by the love of her life of 50 years Steve Gallardo, who wholeheartedly cared for her during her 20 year battle, her five children and their spouses, Steven and Angela Gallardo, Jessica and Ralph Montelongo, Robert and Linda Gallardo, Denise Gallardo, Crystal and Andrew Burgos, 18 grandchildren Nicholas, Samantha, Steven, Trinity, Zoe, Zadie, Zechariah, Destiny, Ilanna, Mariah, Robert Jr., Payton, Melody, Aizley, Andrew Jr., Adeline, Achilles, Atticus, 3 great grandchildren, Audrey, Jonathan and Emily who she loved beyond measure and was so very proud of.
