Michael John Benner

1953 ~ 2022

Michael John Benner was born on October 19,1953 to the proud parents of John and Reta Benner.  Surrounded by love, he passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022, at the age of 68. Michael (Mike) was a farmer and lifelong resident of Reedley. He attended Riverview Elementary school and graduated from Reedley High School in 1971.  In 1978, Mike married Monica, the love of his life.

Mike loved his family, friends, fishing, and coaching wrestling at Grant Middle in the mid 90s and early 2000s.  He was a diehard fan of the Raiders, Fresno State, and Reedley High. 

Mike will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Monica, their sons and grandchildren:  Jared Benner (son), Gavin and Paige Benner (grandchildren), Travis Benner (son) and his wife Annalis, Dylan and Maddox Benner (grandchildren).  He will also be forever remembered by his sister, Sheri (Ty) Parkinson, sister-in-law, Lori Coviello, brother in-law, Troy (Kim) Coviello, nieces, nephews, extended family, life-long friends and former wrestlers. 

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial Donations in memory of Michael may be made to the Parkinson’s Association or a charity of your choice.
