Virginia Ann Manning Tatum

Virginia returned to her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2021 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Virginia was born in Morrilton, Arkansas in 1949 to Jim Manning and Georgia Tanner Manning. Virginia moved with her family to Cutler, California in 1950 and the family eventually settled in Dinuba, California in 1963. Virginia was the oldest of three children, with two younger brothers, James and Michael Manning. She attended Orosi High School and graduated from Dinuba High School and Reedley College. Virginia worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr Logan in Dinuba for many years. While attending youth group at Cutler Southern Baptist Church, Virginia met and fell in love with Daniel Tatum of Orosi. Dan and Virginia were married in 1969. Owing to Dan’s military service, they travelled and lived in many places throughout the country. Together, they had one son, Daniel Tatum, Jr., and their family of three settled in Sacramento.

Virginia was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Everyone that met Virginia was an instant friend. She was kind and selfless and always willing to help. Virginia was the dedicated family historian and kept everyone up to date. She was also the very proud grandma of Sydney and Daniel and spoiled them as often as possible.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Daniel Tatum, Sr., and parents, Jim and Georgia Manning. Virginia is survived by her son Daniel Tatum, Jr and wife Samantha, grandchildren, Daniel and Sydney Tatum, brothers James and Michael Manning, and many beloved family members.

In Lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Guestbook

Virginia was the most amazing woman! She was always smiling and always so happy. She was funny and witty and caring. Even when she was having a bad day, she still managed to smile though it. All of us here at NeuroRestorative will miss her so very much
