Winifred Willideen Findley was born on September 28, 1931 to William and Fannie Jantz. She was born in Kikwit, Belgian Congo, where her family served as missionaries. Her family returned to the United States when she was 14 years old, and she graduated from North Dallas High School in 1949 while her father was attending seminary. She later moved to the Fresno area, where she met Wallace “Wally” Gordon Findley. Winnie and Wally were married in 1955 and shortly after moved to Kingsburg to make their home. They had a son, Reginald, in 1956, and a daughter, Shelly, in 1960. Winnie, Wally, and their family later moved to Dinuba where she became an active member in the Dinuba First Baptist Church. Winnie was a wonderful homemaker, who loved spending time with her family, cooking, hosting birthday and holiday celebrations, and doing crafts.
On December 9, 2021, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wally Findley. She is survived by her son, Reginald Findley and his wife, Mari; her daughter, Shelly Bass; three grandchildren, Brooke Findley, Scott Findley, and Andrew Bass, and his wife Mikayla; and two great grandchildren, Wesley and Kinslee Bass. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Reedley, with a graveside service to follow at the Reedley Cemetery.
